How to control Logic Pro with the new Novation Launchkey
The new Novation Launchkey offers greater control of Logic Pro than ever before. With extensive navigation and transport functionality; recording and mixing your tracks, controlling your plugins, and navigating your projects has never been so hands-on.
Launchkey’s creative features such as Scale Mode, Chord Map, and the Arpeggiator with the new Arp pattern mode are fully compatible with Logic Pro. From demoing your newest song ideas, to mixing and mastering your tracks, and even triggering live loops, Launchkey is the perfect controller keyboard for every Logic Pro user.
DAW pad mode
The Launchkey's default DAW mode allows you to record, solo, mute tracks, and control playback, looping, and recording. It also offers quick access to click, quantise, and undo functions. The new OLED display ensures all tracks and parameters are clearly visible.
Finger drumming
The Launchkey's drum mode offers dynamic finger drumming with 16 velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch, ideal for Logic drums and plugin instruments. The unique patented Launchpad-style FSR pads offer a responsive feel, and you prefer drums snapped to the grid, simply hit the quantise button for perfectly timed beats.
Generative arpeggiator and step editor
The Launchkey’s generative arpeggiator allows you to create rhythmic bass lines and evolving melodies using the mutate and deviate features. The Arp Pattern function includes an eight-step editor, enabling you to add or remove steps, while controlling tie, accent, and ratchet parameters adds expressive depth to the arpeggiator.
Chord Maps
Chord Map mode lets you create exciting and unique chords with hundreds of options thanks to the Adventure and Explore parameters, which control harmonic complexity and variation. The unique performance modifiers add dynamics to each chord set, allowing you to modify the performance of every chord.
Mixer encoder mode and fader control
Adjusting the volume, panning, sends and EQ of your tracks in Logic Pro is a breeze with the new Launchkey. The endless encoders in Mixer mode allow for instantaneous access of mix controls.
With Launchkey 49 and 61 you can also adjust the volume, select and record arm tracks with the faders and fader buttons.
Transport and plugin encoder modes
One of the most exciting ways to control Logic on the new Launchkey is Transport Encoder Mode. Using the endless encoders, you can Scrub through projects, zoom, set loop start and end points, and skip through markers — levelling up your project workflow.
Take control of Logic’s ‘Smart Controls’ using Plugin Encoder mode, enabling quick adjustments to plugins on the fly.
Included software
The new Launchkey comes with a comprehensive software bundle to kickstart your music creation with the selection of premium instruments and effects.
Three Klevgrand plugins for track enhancement, multi-delay effects, and drum customisation; GForce’s emulations of classic Oberheim synthesizers; and Orchestral Tools’ Parallel Orchestra Bundle with a variety of orchestral and acoustic sounds.

Scale Mode
Scale Mode offers 30 different scales to choose from, making it easier to create melodies and chords while staying in tune. A visual representation of each scale is displayed on the crisp OLED screen.
