Ernie Ball adds half-gauge sizes to their Earthwood range
Ernie Ball announced that its Earthwood bronze alloy strings now come in half-gauge sizes, for when you feel the need for your strings to be ever so slightly thicker or thinner.
On top of that, Ernie Ball Earthwood acoustic guitar strings have a whole new look! Now offered in all-new half gauges for both 80/20 and Phosphor Bronze, plus a new set of 12 String Custom Lights.
The History of Earthwood
In early 1972, fueled by the worldwide success of the ever-popular Slinky electric guitar strings, the Ernie Ball "Earthwood" acoustic brand was born. Following the folk-rock, acoustic guitar boom of the mid to late 1960s, acoustic music and acoustic guitars, in particular, were becoming highly influential in contemporary music.
Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Kingston Trio, Crosby Stills & Nash, and hard rock pioneers Led Zeppelin were all enamored with an acoustic voice putting forth landmark recordings that helped shape popular music as we know it.
