HISTORY
The store was originally founded by Marie-José and Leo Caerts. Leo played accordion and piano and he taught others how to play the trombone. One day he wanted more and he decided to specialize in music.
Leonardus would later become a celebrated musician and composer with the highlight of his career being the hit "Eviva Espana," which he composed in 1971. It would define the rest of his life!
Leo Caerts Junior was only 16 years old when the store in Tessenderlo was opened. When a second "Caerts” store was opened in Leuven, things really took off!
In February 1993, Leo Caerts Senior, also known as "Nar" lost his wife and best friend. Almost immediately he gave his children the opportunity to take over the business and left the music business for what it was.
Marie-José is no longer here but she would be oh-so proud if she saw that her four children are still working together to build on the music store she started with her husband in 1978.
