Dealer in the Spotlight: Kaj's Guitarstore

Our dealer in the spotlight today is Kaj Ringenier, owner of Kaj’s Guitarstore in Enschede. Kaj rolled into this business as a guitar collector. At one time, he had 56 guitars at home and this led him to open his first store. Now, Kaj has a highly reputable guitar store in the centre of Enschede (NL) where he sells brands like Music Man, Sterling by Music Man, Lâg Guitars, Rickenbacker, Marshall Amplifiers, Dunlop, Focusrite and much more.

His passion for guitars started in his hometown Enschede with an innocent KISS cover band, where Kaj used a broomstick as a guitar. When the drummer bought a real drum kit, Kaj couldn't stay behind. This is when he bought his first guitar at Huigens Music Store.

He became more involved in the music industry. Kaj had his own band and he was a part of the founding of the music store Feedback Apeldoorn. There he became a specialist in vintage guitars: old special instruments that he picked up in America.

It as 1999 when he started the American Guitar Store in his hometown. His first guitar store and a refreshing shop that lined up special, vintage guitars from America. They got some recognition by selling guitars of popular guitarist and icons like Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstein, KISS hero Gene Simmons en they had limited edition replicas of guitars by Rory Gallagher, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and so on…

Nowadays, Kaj owns a music store at the Korte Haaksbergerstraat 25-27, 7511 JV Enschede, NL. When you walk into this store, you are overwhelmed by a rock ‘n’ roll vibe. Guitars everywhere. From acoustic, to electric, to bass. Anyone who wants to start playing guitar will feel welcome here. And for guitarist and collectors, it feels like coming home.
