For years now, Aguilar has offered a Preamp counterpart to their Tone Hammer amplifiers, but the AG 700 never had its sibling... Until today! 

In a world where gear is becoming more compact and stages are more stripped down than ever, it was time to take that AG sound and pit it in a intuitive pedal/DI format, and thus the AG Preamp was born!

The Preamp

The analog heart that defines the AG sound is in this preamp. Utilizing the same preamp section as Aguilar's AG 700 amplifier, the AG Preamp pedal's sound is ultra clean and transparent with a tight, fast response. For the bassist that demands a crisp, clean tone with plenty of headroom, the AG sound is for them.

4-band EQ section

The AG Preamp features Aguilar's most flexible EQ section. A 4-band EQ with bass, table, and separate high and low midrange control allows the user to filter and shape their new tone in a musical and intuitive way. Now, simply bumping a little row midrange for a punchy pick tone or cutting back the high miss for a deep and snappy slap scoop is a breeze!

Broadband deep & bright boosts

One unique and revered feature on Aguilar's AG and DB amplifiers are its broadband 'deep' and 'bright' boosts. These boosts add depth and shimmer to your sound without unbalancing your bass or changing the inherent tone of your instrument. Aguilar placed these boosts on a toggle-able foot switch allowing the user to use them as musical flavors at the top of a switch. It's never been easier to add a deep low end, sparkling top end, or midrange scoop, perfect for a quick slap sound!

Connectivity options

With its pristine, balanced XLR DI output, with pre/post and ground lift controls, the AG Preamp is a fantastic tool for both live and studio work. As an added bonus, Aguilar included a built-in headphone out and aux in for silent practicing. The headphone mix control allows you to set the balance of your bass input and aux input to make the AG Preamp your go-to for at home practice!
