Sterling by Music Man Introduces the DarkRay Bass!
There are some collaborations that augur very good things, and this is the case with Sterling and Darkglass Electronics, whose association has just given rise to the sublime Sterling DarkRay.
The best of both worlds
DarkGlass Electronics is a Finnish company specialising in bass electronics.
It first teamed up with the prestigious Music Man brand to design a StingRay Special bass featuring a DarkGlass preamp. Following the success of the Music Man DarkRay, the aim is now to bring the same concept to as many people as possible with the Sterling DarkRay, a more affordable version that features the same DarkGlass preamp as the Music Man.
Two distortions in one bass
The DarkRay features a DarkGlass 2-band active preamp with Alpha (distortion) and Omega (fuzz) distortion in addition to a standard clean sound.
Switch easily from one circuit to the other thanks to the 3-position selector with a coloured ring indicating which sound is activated: no colour for clean sound, blue for Alpha distortion and red for Omega fuzz.
Advanced controls
Mix your sound simply and precisely using 5 control knobs.
You'll find adjustment of overall volume, treble, bass, a gain control around which the colour of the selected sound appears, as well as a mix control between the clean signal and the engaged distortion.
Meticulous design
The DarkRay benefits from the care and quality of Sterling by Music Man.
This immaculate black bass features a mahogany top, flamed maple neck and ebony fingerboard.
The pick-up is a Sterling dual-coil ceramic model.
Finally, the black hardware blends in perfectly with the elegant, discreet and meticulous design.
