Discover the new and atypical limited edition Vault cymbals from Sabian!

Since its inception in 1981, Sabian has grown tremendously. In the small town of Meductic, New Brunswick, Canada, they were able to create the foundation for what would later become a benchmark in the cymbal world. For 40 years now, Sabian has remained true to those principles, offering designs and concepts that have inspired drummers to forge their own paths. In 2007, Sabian decided to introduce the "Vault Tour". The concept is simple, a "mobile Vault" that travels from store to store to offer various Sabian units that deliver unique sounds, with the intention of interacting with musicians to create a new series of cymbals that will constantly grow. Regarding the look and sound of the models: "The sky is the limit" as Bob Zildjian said.

The B20 is Sabian's "secret alloy" used on the HH, HHX, AA and AA series to deliver high quality workmanship.

For Sabian's 40th anniversary, a new selection of Vault cymbals has been released or re-released.

SABIAN's first Vault Drop product is the stunning 10" AA Sick Hats, which perfectly demonstrates a commitment to innovation, challenging the status quo, breaking down barriers and expanding the boundaries of sound.

Like its big brother, the 18" AA Sick Hats, the 10" Sick Hats offers a sharp bite at the foot. The stick sound is sharper with the dry, trashy, heavy sound characteristic of the Sick Hats. The Sick Hats 10" is multi-functional! It can also be stacked and used for a fast crackling effect and can be mounted on any cymbal stand.

  • 27 1" holes provide an airy sound with plenty of tonal power

  • Raw bronze surface offers a fast response with a dry, sharp sound

  • Can be stacked quickly and easily

  • Small size and great value

The second Vault Drop, certainly one of the most unique cymbals Sabian has ever made. With its reverse china design, the 14-inch AAX Zen Effects cymbal is a lightweight model with a medium bell. Add to that 6 meticulously spaced holes for increased attack and power, and 6 2-inch discs loosely riveted to the cymbal between the holes, creating a very muscular sizzle effect. Attaching them with a single rivet allows the discs to sway or move when played, depending on the angle of the cymbal. The Zen Effects is an extremely versatile addition to any kit. Use it as a stand-alone effect, a hi-hat top, stack it on a larger cymbal, or use it in any creative way you can think of.

The third Vault Drop was first introduced in 2013. Although the HHX Compression 14 hi hats didn't win the Best Vault Cymbal contest that year, it was well ranked, and since then, Sabian has received many requests from drummers around the world, so bringing them out for a Vault Drop, made perfect sense. This pair is a combination of a non-lathed cymbal and a hammered medium-heavy cymbal, with 5 one-inch air holes. The bottom is fully lathed and heavy, with our Aero hole design. The holes in both the top and bottom result in a trashy chick. Overall, the sound has a metallic/industrial type attack, and a trashy sizzle effect when played slightly open. Definitely a progressive sounding pair of hi hats.

Latest Vault Drop series: the 10" AA Compression Stax. As with the Compression Hats, the top and bottom of this pair are drilled with holes to enhance the sound. The bottom cymbal is thin, unflattened and flat, with 6 one-inch holes. The top is slightly smaller than the bottom, has 6 rows of Aero holes and is medium thin. The smaller top creates a tight fit, and the holes project a quick attack, emulating an electronic "clap". Overall, they are darker and less high-pitched than most of today's popular stack combinations. A special process gives them their unique finish, which remains a secret to this day!
