Dealer in the Spotlight: Reichenbach

Today’s dealer in the spotlight is the oldest music store of The Netherlands. “Muziekhandel Reichenback” in Zwolle was founded in 1846(!) by violin and lute maker Nicolaas Reichenbach. The store has known many forms and has seen five generations of Reichenbach’s. It is now operated by Laurens & Eugenie, and they sell a lot of awesome brands like Takamine, Sterling by Music Man, G&L, Marshall, Dunlop, Ernie Ball, SIGMA, Focusrite and much much more!

As a little boy of five, Laurens would secretly stand by and watch his father sell instruments and sometimes try to sell something to a customer. He was twelve years old when he helped out in the store on Saturdays. This also applied to Eugenie: the two of them were grew up with musical instruments. They literally grew up in the music store so that made them become excellent experts!

It’s in the chemistry of a family business that the music store is now running smoothly. Our grandfather’s motto was: music is for everyone. And that’s true, because music connects and supports
