As part of the release of firmware v2.4, Modal Electronics have just announced Volume 2 of their Factory Preset library for the ARGON8, ARGON8M and ARGON8X, to further spark your creative workflow and show the full capability of these mainstays in the Modal Electronics Line. Everything the modern music producer and composer demands is thoroughly included in 300 all new presets, plus 100 MPE-ready patches currently available in the existing Volume 1 library: deep, thunderous basslines, cutting-edge leads, mutable soundscapes, classic subtractive-style tones and even a collection of world music inspired sounds. Whatever your next project demands, ARGON delivers with this expertly curated collection of presents applicable to any genre.
Great! How do I get my hands on these new sounds?
IMPORTANT: Updating to firmware v2.4 and factory resetting your ARGON Series synthesiser will replace all sounds currently instantiated the synth with the new factory library; please ensure you backup any presets you want to save within MODALapp before following the steps below.
New to the ARGON Series and want to get your hands on these new sounds? Simply check the General Settings on your Synth to see if your unit is running firmware version 2.4. If it is, you’re set, the new factory library is already installed onto your ARGON synth! If your ARGON unit shows firmware version 2.3 or lower, simply connect your synth to your preferred device, initiate MODALapp and proceed to update your firmware. Once firmware v2.4 is installed simply backup any presets you want to save and then factory reset your unit. For existing ARGON Series users, once you have saved any presets you want to keep within MODALapp, please proceed to update your firmware using MODALapp and factory reset your unit. The new factory library will automatically be installed.

Added Extended Oscillator Drift to upper range of Drift control; rescaled patches accordingly
Added ‘Master’ Clock Source mode that always sends out MIDI clock
Improved MIDI reliability on macOS Big Sur
Improved arpeggiator sync when working with external sequencers
Improved expression pedal behaviour
Improved LFO1 sync when clocked from external MIDI
