The EBS Blue Label effects pedals
The EBS MultiComp Blue Label is the most recent version of the legendary compressor from EBS. While the added Sensitivity control adds flexibility to adjust the threshold level to meet the output of your instrument, it can also be left at 12 o’clock to make the effect to behave exactly like the previous versions. That’s a great new benefit, while it makes it smooth to make the transition from an older version to the new 'Blue Label'.
So, if your old trusted MultiComp has become worn out, don’t hesitate to replace it with the ‘Blue Label’ version. If you never owned one, get the ‘Blue Label’ version and find out why so many put it in their pedalboards and just leave it ‘ON’.
The OctaBass was the first pedal ever made by EBS, back in 1992. It has been updated a few times since, with the most revolutionary being the latest ‘Blue Label’ edition.
Analog octave effects have tonal qualities superior to their digital counterparts. The analog technique comes with other challenges though. Every analog octave pedal glitches at some notes on some positions on the fretboard, and they usually can’t track the lowest notes of the bass very well. What makes the new EBS OctaBass unique is that you can adjust the optimized range of the tracking to improve it where you need it to perform the best. By a toggle switch, you can choose to optimize the tracking performance further “Up” on the fretboard, or “Down” if you prefer it to track as low as possible. That means the tracking will be improved where you intend to use the octave effect mostly.
The new Tone control gives you more freedom to control the sound of the effect compared to previous versions.
The EBS BassIQ ‘Blue Label’ envelope filter is the most fun and inspiring effect pedal to play around with! The range of cool dynamic sounds, both on its own and in conjunction with other types of effects, is amazing.
The BassIQ in its original form is well-known as a fat-sounding, dynamic, analog, envelope filter for bass (and guitar). The unique “Down” mode helps create super cool synth-bass type of sounds, in addition to the standard envelope effect.
The pedal's response is triggered by the notes you play, depending on how you set the Threshold- and Attack-controls and how hard you hit the strings. With the new ‘Blue Label’, there is a third control added to adjust the Q value as well (or the sharpness, if you will). A little switch gives you the option to choose between Full Range, Band Pass, or Low Pass to change the character of the effect at any given moment.
Whether you play fingerstyle or with a pick, this pedal will help create new grooves, inspire, and make playing your instrument even more fun.
