AB Team Gear: Ronald's Vic Firth 55A & Freestyle Series

A while ago, we have introduced our team members on social media. Now, it’s time for them to present their musical gear. Today, it’s time for Ronald Van Rijswijk. Ronald is the Account Manager for BMI in The Netherlands. His biggest passion is playing the drums and for doing that… you need great drum sticks!

Ronald is a dedicated Vic FIrth user for over 25 years. He really likes to play Vic Firth’s Hickory sticks. Hickory is a shortening of pockerchicory, which is a tree. So, Vic FIrth’s Hickory sticks are made of this tree and it delivers some really qualitative wood.

Ronald: “I have a 5A and a 5B of the Freestyle Series. You can see the 5B in the picture on the right side. These sticks have a great grip position, are longer and the front is thinner and lighter. I use the 55A American Classic for more violent songs because this sticks are heavier than the Freestylers.”

Ronald: “I play at a Spandau Ballet Tribute Band and we have recently started performing again for smaller groups of people. There were some Gigs at larger festivals but unfortunately they have been canceled.

Because of Corona it all has to be more compact now, but it is just as much fun as before. It’s important that everyone in the industry supports each other and embrace all initiatives!”
