Modal Electronics SKULPT Firmware v2.0 and MODALapp v2.5.0 Update

Firmware v2.0 for SKULPT synthesiser brings MPE support and is an important milestone for the users and for themselves. SKULPT will become the most affordable MPE hardware synth on the market. Additionally, the arpeggiator learns a new Sustain/ARP Latch mode, which works like a classic arp hold and expands SKULPT’s performance versatility. The new Global Tune Setting ensures a better integration of SKULPT into mixed setups with other, less accommodating equipment in studio and live applications, like analogue synthesisers or DJ turntables, which tend to be less precise in tuning. A new global setting enables a MIDI-In Offset, allowing the configuration of the correct pitch playing range of each individual patch without having to adjust the octave settings of the external controller to simplify the integration of Skulpt as a desktop module with other synths. On top, Modal Electronics will release 32 new patches to showcase the new features and to provide a starting point to explore the exciting MPE sound opportunities.

MODALapp v2.5.0 is a free update for the editor and synth managing application, available for all macOS, Windows, iPadOS, iOS and Android. At the same time, MODALplugin v2.5.0 for AU and VST3 compatible audio applications will be available for download from their website.
