AB Team Gear: Wim's custom made Roxane Racing by Lâg Guitars

A while ago, we have introduced all our team members on social media. Now, it’s time to present their musical gear. Today, it’s time for one of our Account Managers at AB Music, Wim Tavernier. Wim has a very special and personalized Lâg guitar he wants to show us.

The Lâg Roxane Racing series were inspired by legendary and expensive old-timers. The purpose was to give this guitars the same finish as these legendary old-timers. Wim is the proud owner of a Citroën 2CV Charleston and he wanted a Lâg Roxanne Racing in the same color scheme as his old-timer.

He spoke to Michel Chavaria, one of the Lâg Bédarieux founders, and he told Wim that it was possible to make a Custom Roxane Racing if this fitted in the production schedule. And it did! A few months later, they asked Wim how the guitar should look like and this is the result:

“This is the RR2000 with a 3rd Phat Cat microphone and a slightly thicker neck, with a Charleston finish. There is no Roxane Racing logo on the 12th fret because I wanted to apply something else there but that turned out to be too difficult, so it never happened. The backplate was also custom made and instead of RR2000 it has RR1962 on it… fantastic!“

“Later on, I also adjusted the electronics a bit. No tone, but 3 volumes: one master volume for the neck and bridge pickup; one volume for the mid-pickup and a master volume for the 3 pickups. A few weeks later it was delivered to AB with unique documents included. I am very proud of it!”
