Guitar Bootcamp Summer 2019 - Ardennes
From the 20th until the 26th of July, the second Guitar Bootcamp took place in the Ardennes. Organized by Gitaar Instituut Dordrecht (GID), the Guitar Bootcamp had 12 participants ranging between 15 and 67 years old. During the week, many different aspects of guitar playing were explained.
Good tools are half the battle... The days started with a good warm-up accompanied by Mika Pors. After this the group was split in two and the guitar lessons started. Two times an hour and a half of practice per day. On Tuesday afternoon everyone had some free time to explore the area .. or to go practice or to chill. Angelo van Merienboer was present on Sunday evening to give a "Guitar Adjustment" workshop. All guitars were adjusted together with Angelo. This was a great success. And of course the excuse "My guitar is not playing so well" could not be used after this.
Jamming with Fusion guitarist Richard Hallebeek and Blues/Rock guitarist Leif de Leeuw. On Sunday and Monday morning Fusion guitarist Richard Hallebeek was the guest teacher and on Monday afternoon the fantastic Leif de Leeuw (Blues, Rock and country) came to take over from him. Both, together with initiator and Blues Guitarist Maarten Pors, provided the lessons at the boot camp. Of course the participants did not want to let go of the opportunity to jam with three pros.
Effects, amplifiers, cables... On Tuesday evening Armand Gabeler came by for a clinic with BOSS pedals. A fun, energetic, demo packed with jams from Armand, Leif and Maarten.
